SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, namely to potato cultivation and seed production, and also to hidroponics. Method comprises treating the plants with a solution of the active compound. In the process of adaptation to the liquid nutrient medium, the root system of the regenerating plants is treated once with a solution of low-concentration brassinosteroids: to regulate the timing of tuber formation with a solution of 24-epibrassinolide in a concentration of 1–100 pM (early tuber formation) or brassinolide solution at a concentration of 50–100 pM (later tuber formation); to increase tuber formation and productivity of a solution of 24-epibrassinolide in the concentration range of 1–100 pM, or a solution of 28-homobrassinolide in the concentration range 1–50 pM, or a solution of the "Epin-extra" industrial preparation in the concentration range 1–50 pM, or brassinolide solution in the concentration range of 50–100 pM. Cultivated under hidroponics conditions at a light flux intensity of 350±50 mcmol/m2s.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to regulate the dynamics of tuber formation and to increase the yield of ecologically clean, healthy seed potato of high quality with the minimum costs of hormonal preparations.
