FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: ingrown nail correction device according to the first embodiment comprises a base member, a left and a right arm, and an axial member. Left arm has an engagement portion situated at the free end to engage the left lateral edge of the nail. Right arm has an engagement portion situated at the free end to engage the right lateral edge of the nail. Axial member is located between the left and right arms and has a lower end serving as a support portion for abutment in the nail. Each of the left and right arms has an upper end pivotally connected to the base member. Axial member includes a rod portion connected to the base member with the possibility of vertical movement relative to the base member by means of a screw movement. Movable member is connected to the rod portion with possibility of vertical movement relative to the rod portion and has a support portion located under the rod portion, and a biasing member situated between the rod portion and the movable member for biasing the movable member. Abutment portion extends in the left and right directions, has protrusions located on the left and right edges so that the protrusions are designed to support the nail in the absence of the support of the support portion in the nail between the left and right protrusions. Ingrown nail correction device according to the second embodiment comprises a base member, a left and a right arm, and an axial member. Left arm has an engagement portion situated at the free end to engage the left lateral edge of the nail. Right arm has an engagement portion situated at the free end to engage the right lateral edge of the nail. Axial member is located between the left and right arms and has a lower end serving as a support portion for abutment in the nail. Each of the left and right arms has an upper end pivotally connected to the base member. Axial member includes a rod portion connected to the base member with possibility of vertical displacement relative to the base member by means of a screw movement, and a support portion located under the rod portion. Abutment portion extends in the left and right directions, has protrusions located on the left and right edges so that the protrusions are designed to support the nail in the absence of the support of the support portion in the nail between the left and right protrusions.

EFFECT: inventions enable placement on the nail without applying excessive force to said nail or enable appropriate use to correct nails having different sizes in the left and right directions despite being made as a single device.
