FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the nonmetallic minerals processing and can be used for the enrichment of the jewelry raw materials of beryls and emeralds mined at the fields of the Urals, Russia. Raw material of beryl jewelry is subjected to selective chemical pickling. Mineralogical study of the sample is carried out, then it is washed in running water with the use of detergents followed by drying at a temperature of 38–42 °C for at least 30 minutes. Dried sample is placed in a solution of hydrogen peroxide for 47–49 hours, it is extracted from the solution and washed with running water and re-dried, then immersed in a solution of a mixture of concentrated acids: for sulfuric acid – 92–94 %, for nitric – 97.5 % in a weight ratio of 1:1 for 47–49 hours, and after pickling is removed from the solution. Washing is carried out with running water with mechanical removal of residual reaction products, and then dried.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to extract crystals of beryl jewelry without mechanical damage.
