SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the distance measurement equipment in the process of wells drilling and can be used to determine the distance and direction between adjacent wells. In particular, proposed is the downhole distance measurement method, comprising the stages, at which: transmitting the first electromagnetic signal from the located within the borehole transmitter; in response to the first electromagnetic signal transmission receiving the first azimuth signal by the located within the borehole receiver; transmitting the second electromagnetic signal from the located within first target well excitation source; in response to the second electromagnetic signal transmission receiving the second azimuth signal by the located within the borehole receiver; applying the complex inversion between the first and second azimuth signals; and determining the azimuth direction from the borehole to the first target well at least in part based on the complex inversion.
EFFECT: technical result is a wider range of equipment.
