FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, in particular to the preservation and storage of biological objects. Method for a platelet concentrate preservation in a gas-permeable bag includes: at least partial saturation of the platelet concentrate with xenon at a pressure of at least 1.1 bar (0.11 MPa), wherein the platelet concentrate has a temperature of at least about 15°C; maintaining the platelet concentrate in the presence of said gas composition for at least 0.001 hours to achieve the desired saturation with gaseous xenon; cooling to storage temperature, which is from 0.01 to 15°C. Storage of the platelet concentrate is carried out in a horizontal position for a desired period of time at the indicated storage temperature. For the use of platelet concentrate, said bag is heated to ambient temperature, while reducing the pressure to at least a partial equilibrium with the ambient temperature.

EFFECT: proposed method for the platelet concentrate preservation provides a reduction in the formation of platelet aggregates during the entire period of platelet concentrate storage.
