SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the nuclear engineering, in particular to the fuel elements oxide nuclear fuel production technology, and can be used to produce the uranium dioxide based pelleted nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants. Nuclear fuel pellets from uranium dioxide manufacturing method includes preparation of the uranium dioxide molding powder with or without the uranium oxide addition. At that, as the raw material for the molding powder preparation, using the uranium dioxide powder with the O/U ratio equal to 2.37±0.04, which is preliminarily produced by the ceramic grade uranium dioxide powder heating in air.

EFFECT: invention allows to increase the sintered pellets mechanical strength, to increase the sintered pellet grain size.
