METHOD FOR OSTEOSYNTHESIS OF FLOATING FRACTURES OF THE RIBS AND THE DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/58

Abstract RU 2661565 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to traumatology and orthopedics and can be used to treat multiple fractures of the posterior segments of the ribs leading to segment flotation. After determining the fixation points, a longitudinal cutaneous incision up to 8 cm is performed in the projection of the planned points on the site of the lesion located cranially. Soft tissues are diluted, open reposition is performed using clamps, and the costal pleura is peeled off the upper edge of the rib. Bend the first plate along the front surface of the rib and bend the curved plate with the edge hooks over the upper edge of the rib and tighten it from all sides. Drilled channels for the introduction of screws are drilled through the threaded conductor holes of the curved plate and the ribs are fixed. Then, at the damage site located caudally, the same actions are repeated, bending the second plate. Connect the plates and a pre-curved guide rod, which is subcutaneously, subfascially controlled by an electron-optical transducer in the direction of cranial caudal. Fix guide rod with threaded clamps on the middle of the plates, carry out intraoperative endovideotoracoscopic x-ray control of reposition and fixation and sew the wound layer by layer with the leaving of wound silicone drainage.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures achievement of a strong fixation of flotating fractures of the posterior segments of the ribs without additional traumatization of soft tissues and damage to the muscular framework.
