FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for isolating dicyclopentadiene (DCPD), piperylenes and isoprene from a C5 feed. Method includes the following steps: feed of C5 feedstock containing isopentane, isoprene, cyclopentadiene and piperylenes, to the light component removal column; isolation of isopentane from C5 feedstock to the first light fraction; removing the remaining C5 feedstock into the first heavy bottoms fraction from the light component removal column; feeding the first heavy bottoms into the heat exchanger; feeding the first heavy bottoms fraction from the heat exchanger to the first dimerization system to form a mixture of dimers containing DCPD, isoprene, piperylenes and cyclopentadiene; passing a mixture of dimers through a C5 distillation column; isolating isoprene from the C5 distillation column into a second light fraction; passing the second light fraction through a two-stage system of an extraction distillation column/recovery column equipped with an impurity removal system and a raw isoprene fractionation system that is located between the first and second extraction column/recovery column systems of a two-stage extraction column/recovery column system; recycling of cyclopentadiene (CPD) from the fractionation system of crude isoprene to the first dimerization system; selection of the second heavy bottoms fraction from the C5 distillation column containing DCPD and piperylenes; passing the second heavy bottoms fraction from the C5 distillation column to the second dimerization system; passing a fraction containing DCPD and piperylenes from the second dimerization system to the piperylene separation column to separate the piperylenes; passing the third heavy bottoms fraction containing the DCPD from the piperylene separation column to the DCPD isolation column to produce the DCPD; and wherein the impurity removal system comprises a sulfur removal unit, an oxygenate removal unit and an acetylene removal unit, each of which is between the first extraction distillation column and the second extraction distillation column of a two-stage system of an extraction distillation column/recovery column.
EFFECT: present invention is directed to an efficient operation for obtaining a minimum of four streams from the C5 fraction of pyrolysis gasoline.
