FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing dicyclopentadiene from a C5-fraction from hydrocarbon pyrolysis, which includes dimerisation of cyclopentadiene in the C5-fraction while heating, monomerisation of the obtained dicyclopentadiene concentrate, dimerisation of cyclopentadiene and fractionation purification. Dimerisation of cyclopentadiene is carried out in two successive streams, wherein dimerisation in the first stream is carried out at 45-75°C and in the second stream at 115-125°C, with partial recirculation of the product of the first stream. Monomerisation is carried out in the presence of an inert solvent, an oil fraction with boiling point of 220-230°C, followed by dimerisation of cyclopentadiene, fractionation and separation of dicyclopentadiene.
EFFECT: use of the present method enables to obtain highly pure dicyclopentadiene with high output and low power consumption.
