SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and an apparatus for hot-sealing of several layers of a layered material in the sealing region. Such layered material includes a carrier layer from electrically non-conductive material, for example cardboard, and a sealing layer from a thermoplastic material, for example polyethylene, on at least one surface of the layered material. When the number of layers of the layered material in the sealing region varies, hot sealing in a high-frequency electric alternating field is problematic. These method and apparatus for hot sealing of several layers of a layered material uses a high-frequency electric alternating field. This prevents problems due to too great or little heat supply to the layers of the layered material to be sealed. In the method, the electric alternating field in the first partial sealing region is generated with a first power of the high frequency power supply, and in at least one second partial region of the sealing area – with a second power of the high-frequency power supply, which differs from the first power in such a way that a different heat distribution occurs in the partial regions of the sealing region. Such different heat distribution in the partial regions allows targeted adjustment to the amount of heat required in the respective partial regions.

EFFECT: providing hot sealing of several layers of a layered material in a high-frequency electric alternating field to avoid too great or little heat input to the layers being sealed.
