FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aqueous cationically stabilized dispersions that contain dispersed polymer particles having a Z-average particle diameter of 5 to 500 nm. Aqueous cationically stabilized primary dispersion for the production of coating materials comprises (1) dispersed polymer particles which (I) have Z-average particle diameter of 5 to 500 nm and (II) are prepared by emulsion polymerization of at least one olefin-unsaturated monomer (A), wherein the emulsion polymerization takes place in the presence of one or more emulsifiers (E), which have the following formula: R1-N(R2)(R3), where R1 is 15 to 40 carbon atom moiety that contains at least one aromatic group and at least one aliphatic group, and which contains at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl groups, thiol groups, primary amino groups, secondary amino groups and a mixture thereof, and which contains at least one multiple carbon-carbon bond, and R2 and R3, independently of one another, are the same or different aliphatic moieties that contain from 1 to 14 carbon atoms. Invention also relates to a process for the preparation and use of the above dispersions, to an electrolytic coating composition, to an electrically conductive substrate.
EFFECT: resulting dispersions have improved ultrafiltration pumping ability, which provides processability in processing.
