FIELD: fiber optic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for mounting fiber-optic cables, in particular, the rotation drive is used in coiling machines for winding a thin fiber-optic cable onto a suspended carrier element. Claimed rotational drive of the machine for winding the fiber optic cable onto the suspended carrier element has a running roller rigidly fixed to the shaft, rolling on the carrier element during the inoculation, being in engagement with the carrier element, and thus, when the machine moves along the carrier element, creating a moment of force transmitted by the drive to rotate the machine body with a coil with a fiber optic cable fixed to it, and having a driven rotary drive wheel that is in rigid connection with the rotating body of the machine. Driving wheel of the rotation drive is rigidly fixed on the shaft of the running roller and is in direct engagement with the driven wheel, and the geometric axis of rotation of the body of the machine and the running roller are crossed in space and do not have a common point. In one embodiment, the driving wheel has sharp teeth, and the driven wheel has a rim made of an elastic material where the edges of the teeth of the drive wheel are embedded to ensure the engagement. In another implementation, the driving and trailing wheels form a hypoid gear. Rotary drive has low weight, reliability and unpretentiousness.
EFFECT: compactness, light weight, reliability and lack of lubrication.
