FIELD: electrical engineering; overhead routing of fiber-optic cable on power transmission line conductors. SUBSTANCE: method is used for routing fiber-optic cable over overhead power transmission line that has supporting structures. Fiber-optic cable is wound on two spools at two ends of cable, then it is wound on line conductor with aid of two winding machines moving over conductor in two opposite directions; each winding machine has spool with fiber-optic cable wound on it. After entire fiber- optic cable is reeled off the spool, its end is welded to next fiber-optic cable section wound on line conductor and welded joint is covered with sealed junction sleeve secured on conductor by means of clamps. EFFECT: facilitated procedure, enhanced reliability and economic efficiency, reduced labor consumption. 4 cl, 4 dwg
