FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to means of positioning and orienting surgical tools. Device comprises a support, a first portion protruding from the support and having a first opening for alignment with an entry point to a port, a second portion protruding from the support and configured to be positioned to align with the first opening in a plurality of different positions, and an actuator coupled to at least one of the first portion and the second portion for setting the relative positions of the first portion and the second portion to allow alignment of the tool axis formed between the first portion and the second portion through the first opening such that the tool provided on the tool axis includes a known position and orientation. Device according to the second embodiment is designed such that the tool provided on the tool axis passes through the entry point into the port with a known position and orientation. Method of positioning medical tools for invasive surgery comprises steps of placing an imaging device in the first port in a patient, determining the position of the second port for the tool, establishing a positioning and orienting device for the patient, wherein the positioning and orienting device includes at least two plates protruding from the support, each plate having an opening and at least one of the at least two openings having adjustable positions for aligning the tool axis with respect to the second port, and an actuator for adjusting the positions of one of the at least two openings, and positioning the tool along the tool axis through at least two openings in accordance with the field of view of the imaging device.
EFFECT: use of inventions widens the range of means for positioning and orienting surgical tools.
