FIELD: medicine; dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to dentistry, and can be used to diagnose anomalies in the position of canine teeth on the upper and lower jaws both during the period of the replaceable occlusion, and during the period of the formed occlusion of permanent teeth. On the orthopantomogram of the jaws the points “Dzn” to be marked, that are located at the intersection of the line, corresponding to projection of the distal slope of the zygomatic process of the upper jaw with the shadow of the hard palate, and the point “C”, which are located near the lateral walls of the nasal passage. Main anatomically stable landmarks for determining the way of the canines eruption on the orthopantomograms of the jaws are fang lines. For their construction a horizontal line is drawn on the orthopantomograms of the jaws, connecting the points “Dzn”, distance from the point “Dzn” to the point “Dzn” is divided into three equal segments and the points “C” are obtained. From points “C” drop perpendiculars to the intersection with the shadow of the lower edge of the body of the lower jaw and receive vertical canine lines. To determine the angulation of the canines, measure the angle, formed at the intersection of the canine line and the axis of the canines of the upper and lower jaw, angle between the canine line and the axis of the canine on the upper jaw denote α, on the lower jaw – γ, mesial deflection of the canine of the upper jaw from the canine line is designated (+α), distal deviation is denoted by (-α), mesial deflection of the canine of the lower jaw from the canine line is denoted as (+γ), distal deviation is denoted as (-γ). Depending on the angles α and γ 3 degrees of deviation of the pathway for the canines eruption of the upper and lower jaw from the canine lines are distinguished: I degree of deviation is the angle α and γ from (-5) to (+5) degrees – characterizes the favorable way of the canine eruption; II degree of deviation is the angle α and γ from (-15) to (-6) and from (+6) to (+15) degrees – it is possible to avoid the retention of the canine; III degree of deviation is the angle α and γ more (-15) or more (+15) degrees – high risk of canine retention.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the accuracy of determining the way of the canines eruption on the orthopantomograms of the jaws.
