FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: high purity neurotoxic component of the Clostridium botulinum toxin with content of a single-stranded form of less than 2.00% by weight for treatment of disease or condition associated with hyperactive cholinergic innervation of muscles or exocrine glands, a method for producing said high purity neurotoxic component of botulinum toxin and a pharmaceutical composition for treating a disease or condition associated with hyperactive cholinergic innervation of muscles or exocrine glands. Method comprises cultivating Clostridium botulinum under conditions that allow production of a botulinum toxin and isolating the neurotoxic component from the botulinum toxin, wherein the cultivating step and isolating step are conducted in a pressure gradient device. Pharmaceutical composition comprises said high purity neurotoxic component of the Clostridium botulinum toxin and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
EFFECT: inventions provide a highly pure neurotoxic component of botulinum toxin in a safe manner and maximum high purity of the drugs.
