FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for production of botulinum toxin. The proposed method includes the production of botulinum toxin by cultivation of Clostridium botulinum type A in a composition of a medium for cultivation of Clostridium botulinum type A and extraction of botulinum toxin. At the same time, the medium for cultivation of Clostridium botulinum type A contains from 2 to 5 wt./vol.% of potato peptone, from 0.5 to 2 wt./vol.% of yeast extract, and from 0.75 to 1.5 wt./vol.% of glycose.
EFFECT: invention allows for achievement of the maximum level of toxin formation and the maximum level of culture growth during a short time, thereby providing reduction in cultivation time.
