FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: method for botulinum toxin production is provided. The method comprises treatment of the botulinum toxin-producing strain culture with acid at pH 3.0-4.5, adding buffer to the precipitated botulinum toxin, and protease and nuclease treatment with an inhibitor. The extracted botulinum toxin is then precipitated with sulfuric or hydrochloric acid at pH 2.5-4.5, dissolved in buffer and purified by anion exchange chromatography.
EFFECT: production of botulinum toxin with high purity.
