FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of nanostructured composite materials. Single-walled, double-walled or multi-walled carbon nanotubes are mixed with an organic solvent in a high-speed stirrer at a speed of 1,000–4,000 rpm and constant cooling. As an organic solvent, alcohol from the series: ethanol, or propanol, or isopropanol, or ethylene glycol; ketones from the series: acetone, or methyl ethyl ketone; petroleum solvent from the series: gasoline, or kerosene, or naphtha; ether, for example tetrahydrofuran; halogenated hydrocarbon, for example chloroform. Then the obtained mixture is stirred at a speed of 5–20 rpm at a temperature not exceeding the temperature of its curing and with ultrasonic action on it. Resulting modifier for the preparation of nanostructured composite materials, including carbon nanotubes and the medium in which they are contained – the above-mentioned organic solvent, is a stable dispersion that does not contain surfactants, with a high content of nanotubes and has a long shelf life in a stable state at which it is usable.
EFFECT: modifier for the preparation of nanostructured composite materials and a method for producing a modifier are proposed.
