FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the electrothermal processing of a particulate material in a fluidized bed and an apparatus for carrying it out. Method includes feeding gas through the bed of particulate material in an upflow stream, providing fluidization of the bed, and passing an electric current therethrough, while further mixing the particulate material in a fluidized bed by separating the feed gas stream into jets, which are directed at an angle to each other, or by changing the spatial distribution of the electric current density. Device comprises a lined vessel with a gas distribution and supply system and electrodes, one of which is mounted vertically in the vessel, immersed in a fluidized bed, and is provided with an axial channel. Gas distribution and supply system is made in the form of branches, one of which is connected to the axial channel of said electrode. Lining of the vessel in the lower part is made in the form of a bowl, in which there are channels connected to the system of distribution and supply of the gas flow.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the uniformity of the distribution of particulate material in the fluidized bed, as well as an increase in the technological and energy efficiency of the processing of dispersed materials.
