FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for electroslag surfacing and production of bimetallic workpieces. Proposed plant comprises sliding-type crystalliser consisting of top and bottom parts and made with possibility of installation of workpiece in it, closing crystallizer inner space in its top part and forming a gap in its lower part to form in said gap of plating layer, consumable electrodes from deposited metal, installed in space between upper part of crystallizer and workpiece, made with possibility of their vertical movement, workpiece positioning device and its movement are configured for positioning and movement of workpiece at an angle to vertical in range from 2 to 40 degrees, and mould top part can be arranged relative to lower part at angle equal to or greater than angle between workpiece and vertical.
EFFECT: invention ensures uniformity of billet penetration and uniform thickness of deposited layer provided that electrodes are closed on crystalliser and billet, which improves reliability of the plant and improves quality of produced bimetallic billet.
