SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and power engineering, in particular to ferromagnetic devices controlled by changing the air gap. Reactor with adjustable gap contains a magnetic core with a middle rod consisting of two moving, upper and lower, cores, side yams, main, signal and control windings, mechanism for adjusting the gaps with drive shaft moving movable cores. Middle core of the magnetic circuit is made with an additional intermediate stationary core mounted between the upper and lower movable cores, which allows you to divide the desired adjustable single gap into two equal parts, which provides a reduction in the dispersion fields and the level of bulging of the magnetic flux.

EFFECT: reduction of electric energy losses in the core of the magnetic circuit from the eddy currents, the level of noise and vibration arising when the magnetic flux is buckled in a regulated single air gap.
