FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, to ferromagnetic devices controlled by changing the air gap. Reactor with adjustable clearance contains a magnetic core with a middle rod, consisting of two moving, upper and lower, cores, side yarns, windings: main, signal and control, mechanism for adjusting the gaps with drive shaft moving movable cores. Movable parts of the middle core of the magnetic core are divided into two parts, moving with different speeds relative to each other. Indicated technical solution allows us to divide the single gap into three parts.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the energy losses in the core of the magnetic circuit from the eddy currents, the level of noise and vibrations arising when the magnetic flux is buckled in a regulated single air gap.
