SYNCHRONISED CARDIOVERSION MIXED MODE OPERATION AND TIMING VERIFICATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61N1/39 A61B5/245

Abstract RU 2663638 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method for synchronised cardioversion mixed mode operation by means of a defibrillator with an external electrocardiographic monitor is performed by means of a defibrillator system. Defibrillator system comprises external ECG monitor (40) and defibrillator (20). Defibrillator comprises shock source (24) for storing electric energy and controller (25) having synchronised cardioversion input channel (29) for receiving a synchronised cardioversion input signal from external ECG monitor (40). External ECG monitor generates external ECG waveform (50) of heart (11) of patient (10) or external synchronised pulse (51) indicative of a detection by external ECG monitor of at least one QRS complex of the external ECG waveform. Defibrillator for operation in synchronised cardioversion mixed mode with an external ECG monitor located outside the defibrillator comprises an input channel for receiving the synchronised cardioversion input signal from the external ECG monitor. Defibrillator controls a first conditional delivery of a defibrillation shock synchronised with the synchronised cardioversion input signal to the patient in response to receiving the synchronised cardioversion input signal in form of the external ECG waveform. Defibrillator controls a second conditional delivery of a defibrillation shock synchronised with the synchronised cardioversion input signal to the patient in response to receiving the synchronised cardioversion input signal in form of an external synchronised pulse.

EFFECT: enabling reduction of the risk of generating an incorrect synchronised cardioversion to a defibrillator using an external ECG monitor.
