FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to membrane modules used in medicine. Proposed is a hollow fiber membrane module comprising a housing and a hollow fiber membrane embedded in the housing in which the hollow fiber membrane contains a polysulfone-based polymer and a hydrophilic polymer is provided. Module satisfies conditions (A) and (B), where (A): insoluble component is less than 3 wt% with respect to the total mass of the hollow fiber membrane when the hollow fiber membrane dissolves in N,N-dimethylacetamide; and (B): flexible layer exists on the surface of a functional layer in a wet state and has a thickness of 7 nm or more. According to the invention, the amount of the eluted substance contained in the liquid obtained as a result of circulation of ultrapure water heated at 37 °C during passage along the side of the inner surface of the hollow fiber membrane for 4 hours at a rate of 200 ml/min is 1.0 mg/m2 or less.
EFFECT: technical result is producing the hollow fiber membrane module, in which a small amount of the eluted substance exhibiting high biocompatibility is provided, and a change in its performance characteristics is prevented.
