FIELD: wind turbines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and a method for converting wind from an aircraft into electrical power. System for generating energy from wind induced by an aircraft including: one or more wind turbines (100) configured to generate electrical power by capturing wind induced by the aircraft, wherein each of the one or more wind turbines (100) comprises: rotor (302) mounted for rotation about axis (305); plurality of blades (304) coupled to rotor (302); and controller (216) configured to: receive an indication that the aircraft is preparing to takeoff or preparing to land; and adjust one or more parameters of the one or more wind turbines based on an indication that the aircraft is preparing to takeoff or preparing to land; and the system further comprises shroud (308) configured to deflected unwanted wind (406, 506) and/or direct the wind (404, 504) induced by the aircraft such that additional force is imparted to rotor (302); wherein adjusting one or more of the parameters of one or more wind turbines (100) includes adjusting position of shroud (308).
EFFECT: invention is aimed at the profitability of the system for generating energy from wind induced both during takeoff and landing of an aircraft.
