FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed are systems and methods for preliminary charging of capacitor bank. Power switch and the current limiting device are connected in series between the power supply and the capacitor bank. Force key is controlled to limit peak charging current applied to capacitor bank during pre-charging process. Disturbance of the pulse signal can be modified based on the measured current flowing into the current-limiting device. At that, control over voltage on capacitor bank may also be performed, and the preliminary charging procedure can be terminated when the controlled voltage reaches a threshold value.

EFFECT: preliminary charging of capacitor bank is proposed.
