FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compounds having structural formula I in which ring B is a substituent selected from the group consisting of 3-OCH2CH3-4-OH-phenyl and 2-OH-4-Br-phenyl, as well as the use of said compounds, in which ring B is a substituent selected from the group consisting of phenyl, 4-Br-phenyl, 4-NO2-phenyl, 3-OCH3-phenyl, 1-naphthyl, 2-naphthyl, 4-Cl-phenyl, 3-OCH2CH3-4-OH-phenyl and 2-OH-4-Br-phenyl, in the treatment of cancer. Invention also relates to the use of specific compounds of formulae Ia and IIa in the treatment of a disease associated with cell proliferation. Mechanism of action of the most active compounds was determined using DNA microarrays and subsequent tests indicated by a chip, as well as in selectivity tests in healthy human lymphocytes.

EFFECT: invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing said compounds for the treatment of a disease associated with cell proliferation, wherein the disease is selected from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), tumours and inflammation.
