Method and a test kit are proposed to determine a patient's predisposition to severe periodontal disease and/or a high risk of progression of periodontal disease. Patient composite genotype consisting of one copy of allele 1 (C) IL1B (rs16944; C/T), two copies of allele 1 (G) IL1B (rs1143623; G/C), one copy of allele 2 (T) IL1B (rs4848306; C/T) and two copies of allele 1 (G) IL1B (rs1143633; G/A), indicates a predisposition to severe periodontal disease and/or a high risk of progression of periodontal disease.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides effective means and methods for determining predisposition to severe periodontal disease and/or a high risk of progression of periodontal disease.
