FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for repairing rails without removing them from railroad track. After aluminothermic welding, clipping of fin from top of rail is carried out on both sides of weld bead in direction from periphery to center with the help of a cutting tool. Clipping of fin begins in 13–13.5 minutes after the end of release of molten metal into the mold and perform to attention of the cutting tool knives at a distance between them 40–50 mm. Cutting of profitable part of peripheral zone of welded bead on each side of weld bead is performed for 15–20 seconds, then it is paused for 30–45 seconds, after which, for 20–25 s, profitable part of central zone of welded bead is cut to the fullest extent of cutting tool knives with each other.
EFFECT: these technological parameters of clipping of fit provide a reduction in risk of defects in weld bead inform of internal cracks, breaks, looseness of metal.
