FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to afterburning of anode gases of an aluminum electrolytic cell. Device contains a burner with air-intake slot of rectangular shape located in the lower part of the burner and directed into the inside of the burner at an acute angle to the tangent of its outer surface. Each air-intake slot is equipped with an air inlet having a cross-sectional area equal to the area of the air intake slot and a length l=3÷5Dg, where Dg – hydraulic gap diameter. Air inlets to the air-intake slots are located at an angle to the vertical axis of the burner α=45÷60°.

EFFECT: increase in the area of contact between burned anode gases and air and increase in the efficiency of afterburning of anode gases.
