FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport with a different track width, in particular to systems for transferring wheel sets from a track of one width to another. System for transferring wheel sets from one track width to another contains a frame connected through a track width change mechanism with wheeled carriages. Displacement mechanism is made on the front and rear axles of the frame and represents the breaking-strut crank-slider mechanisms. Wheel axles are hinged at extra ties parallel to axis of the frame. Displacement drive is made in the form of a cylinder, which includes a piston and a rod. Free end of the rod is fixed to a rectangular frame. Blind and rod ends of the cylinder are connected by means of pipelines through a two-way three-position distribution valve with a working medium supply source. Axes connecting wheel sets on different sides are made in the form of telescopic semi-axes. Inner semi-axes are sprung by compression springs relative to the outer semi-axes. Contacts are installed on the inner and outer telescopic shafts. When moving from a track of greater width to a track of smaller width, the springs are compressed, the contacts are closed, transmitting the signal to the working fluid distribution valve. Semi-axes converge, the track narrows. When moving from a track of smaller width to a track of greater width, the springs are rectified, the contacts are closed, transmitting the signal to the working fluid distribution valve. Semi-axes diverge, the track widens.
EFFECT: expansion of operational capabilities is achieved by automating the process of transferring wheel sets from one track width to another.
