FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of UHF technology and can be used to change the high UHF power levels of an electromagnetic wave of the H10 mode in a rectangular waveguide. Waveguide UHF attenuator consists of a 3-decibel directional coupler, a reflector, and two matched loads. Reflector consists of two pieces of a rectangular waveguide connected to each other along a narrow wall and two identical pivotally connected metal plates. Hinge is disposed in the waveguide coupling gap together with the plate rotation mechanism comprising a nut that moves translationally when the screw rotates, to which the torque is transmitted from the regulator shaft.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the matching and increasing the permissible power of the electromagnetic wave passing through the attenuator.
