FIELD: test technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation equipment certification testing and, in particular, to the technology of atmospheric cloud imitation, as well as simulating intermittent cloudiness during testing of de-icing systems of the main components of the aircraft and its engine on ground stands. In carrying out the method, water is supplied and then water is sprayed in the air stream, while the water content is controlled by changing the water flow rate. Water is fed in a pulsed mode, while the dispersion of the spray is established, which ensures the formation of droplets whose average median size does not exceed 20 mcm, and the water flow is changed by adjusting the pulse width.

EFFECT: technical result consists in expanding the range of water content generated by a set of nozzles with specified flow characteristics, while ensuring the normalized dispersion of water spray.
