SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive methods for studying solid materials. Method is proposed for determining macrorelief of a surface and internal inclusions, object defects, and a device implementing the said method, method consists in illuminating an investigation object with laser radiation in an immersion medium and recording acoustic waves arising from laser action by two spaced acoustic receivers located on the illumination side, while simultaneously recording acoustic pulses transmitted through the sample, also by two acoustic receivers.

EFFECT: invention can be used to control specified parameters of objects and determine their physical characteristics.
