SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in contact spot welding. Weld gun (10A) is provided with driving force transmission mechanism (18) for converting the linear movement of the output member of the drive unit (14) to the pivotal movement of clamping lever (16). Mechanism for transferring driving force (18) includes a link, connected to an output element and provided with inclined portion (94) formed thereon, which is movable integrally with the output element when it is linearly moved and inclined relative to the direction of movement of the output member. Squeezing member (96) is movable by inclined area (94). Clamping lever (16) is configured to generate a clamping force as a result of the rotation accompanying said movement of squeezing member (96).
EFFECT: weld gun has small dimensions and weight, while it provides the possibility of clamping the workpiece with a constant force in the absence of a separate clamping device.
