FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of observing and analysing optical singularities in glass vessel. Method for observing and analysing optical singularities which deflect light, which are located on a surface or in the wall of a glass vessel having an axis of symmetry, includes: illuminating the vessel by means of a diffuse light source having a change in a property of light in a direction of variation, using an image acquisition device sensitive to said property of light and its variation, and processing the image for the analysis of optical singularities. Vessel is illuminated from the outside by means of a luminous surface with axial symmetry about vertical axis (Z). In the case of vessels with low transmittance, an image of the vessel portion is obtained by an imaging device receiving light rays originating from a portion of an axially symmetric luminous surface located on the same side of the vessel as observation point (P) and reflected by the surface of the vessel in accordance with laws of mirror reflection. In the case of vessels with high transmittance, an image of the vessel portion is obtained by an imaging device receiving light rays originating from a portion of an axially symmetric luminous surface diametrically opposite to observation point (P) with respect to the vessel and passing through the walls of the vessel in accordance with the laws of refraction.

EFFECT: technical result consists in the technology of observation and analysis of the optical singularities of a vessel at any transmittance of the material.
