FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. 6 % suspension of bentonite is prepared by dispersing bentonite in water for 15 minutes. Resulting suspension is activated by adding sodium chloride in an amount necessary to prepare 1 M solution and stirring for an additional 15 minutes. Suspension is separated from the coarse particles by decantation, treated with 77 % solution of distearylmethyl ammonium chloride and stirred for an additional 60 minutes. Resulting organobentonite is centrifuged for 4 minutes, washed twice with distilled water and dried to constant weight at a temperature of 105–110 °C.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the yield of organomodified powdered bentonite.
