In the following formulas, in a numerical distribution by particle sizes of the gloss control agent, R is a number average particle size (mcm), D_97.5 is a size of 97.5 % of particles (mcm), Ru is an upper limit of particle size (mcm), and T is a thickness of the upper coating layer (mcm): D_97.5/T≤0.9; Ru≤1.2T; R≥1.0; and 3≤T≤40.

EFFECT: invention provides the creation of a coated metal sheet and an external building material that have target structure properties with adjustable gloss, and are also chromate-free, have excellent corrosion resistance of a flat portion equivalent to or higher than the corrosion resistance of coated metal sheets containing a metal sheet treated with corrosion chromates.
