FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in satellite communication systems. For this purpose, the observation satellite is used to obtain information about electromagnetic energy radiated from the earth. Said observation satellite moves around the Earth in an orbit, having a slope greater than 90° and less than 270°. In addition, the observation satellite comprises at least one receiving antenna, wherein at least one receive antenna has a receive directional pattern directed toward the Earth, and is configured to receive electromagnetic energy in the radio frequency range as the satellite moves in an orbit relative to the Earth's surface. Also, the observation satellite comprises a transmitter configured for, at least one, retransmission of the received electromagnetic energy, transmission of information, representing the received electromagnetic energy; and transmission of information obtained from the received electromagnetic energy.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the reliability of receiving electromagnetic energy.
