FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: sliding control valve (10) includes valve body (12), seat ring (22) located within the valve body and valve plug (20) slidably mounted within the valve body, the valve plug and the valve seat cooperating to control fluid flow through the control valve. Seal assembly (30) is located between the valve plug and the valve seat, the seal assembly including metal/graphite seal ring (34) located between first backup ring (60) and second backup ring (62). Biasing element (64) is located adjacent the second backup ring and retainer ring (70) is located adjacent the biasing element to maintain the biasing element adjacent the second backup ring.
EFFECT: graphite/metal valve assembly for high-temperature control valves is disclosed.
