DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE FOR THE EVAPORATED FUEL PROCESSING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC F02M25/08

Abstract RU 2666033 C1

FIELD: motors and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines (ICE) fuel supply systems. Evaporated fuel processing device includes the following: the vaporized fuel channel (16), which connects the fuel tank (2) and the adsorbed (3); the check valve (21), which is arranged with the possibility to open and close the channel (16) for the evaporated fuel; the blowing channel (19), which connects the adsorber (3) and the intake duct (17) of the ICE (1); the first purge control valve (23), which is arranged with the possibility to open and close the purge channel (19); the drain shut-off valve (26), which is arranged with the possibility to cover the drainage channel (25); and the pressure pump (27), which is arranged with the possibility to generate an increased pressure in the interior part of the system. When the difference between the fuel temperatures at the beginning of the actuation and after the actuation is equal to or higher than the threshold value, leak diagnostics is performed using the positive pressure or negative pressure, which is present in the fuel tank (2). When the difference between the fuel temperatures is less than the threshold value, leak diagnostics is performed using the discharge pump (27).

EFFECT: reduced energy consumption due to leak diagnostics in the evaporated fuel processing device without the use of the pressure pump.
