According to the second version, the barometric pressure determination method comprises the step of determining the barometric pressure based on the pressure change in the sealed fuel system after the vehicle travels the threshold distance with the engine and the fuel pump disconnected. The vehicle propulsion system control system comprises an engine, a volumetric air flow sensor, a fuel tank with a relative pressure sensor, a fuel tank shut-off valve, and a controller.
