FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method for encoding reconstructed video content in which: one or more statistical values based on original images is calculated; on basis of statistical values, function of adaptive form recovery for original images is selected, and adaptive shape recovery function maps original codewords to recovered codewords; adaptively restore shape, based on selected function of adaptive shape recovery, portion of original video content for generating region of reconstructed video content; function approximation is generated, opposite to function of adaptive form recovery; reconstructed video content and set of adaptive shape recovery parameters are encoded, which specify approximation of function, inverse of function of adaptive shape recovery, into reconstructed video signal, one of selected adaptive shape recovery function or function, inverse of selected adaptive shape recovery function, contains power function.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase efficiency of adaptive shape recovery.
