FIELD: image processing means.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to processing techniques for displaying perceptually quantized video images. Method for encoding a perceptually quantized video image with a high dynamic range (HDR) is proposed. Method comprises the step of accessing the first video signal in the first color space. Further, according to the method, one or more color transformations are applied to the first video signal, generating an output video signal in a perceptually quantized opponent color space. Application of one or more color transformations to the first video signal with the generation of the output video signal further includes applying a first color conversion to the first video signal generating a second video signal in the main linear color space.
EFFECT: technical result is improved coding efficiency and perceptual uniformity for HDR video images.
