SUBSTANCE: B-spline predictor of a tensor product. The specified technical result is achieved by defining a set of basis functions of B-splines of the tensor product (TPB). A set of selected TPB prediction parameters is generated for use with a set of TPB basis functions to generate predictive image data in displayed images from source image data in source images of the source color scheme. A set of selected TPB prediction parameters is generated by minimizing the differences between the predicted image data in the displayed images and the reference image data in the reference images of the reference color scheme. The reference images match the original images and display the same visual content as the original images. A set of selected TPB prediction parameters is encoded in the video signal as part of the image metadata along with the original image data in the original images. Provide restoration and reproduction of the displayed images by the receiver of the video signal.
EFFECT: provision of a method for creating video content data that can be used to support the display capabilities of a wide range of SDR and HDR display devices.
