FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for estimating traffic conditions. Method is proposed for determining the error parameter in calculating the user traffic, the parameter is associated with the estimated traffic conditions, which are provided electronically to the user of the electronic device using the navigation application. Method includes the steps of: at the first time, obtaining by the electronic device from the server a calculated travel time for the road segment; in response to the fact that the device is approaching the road segment, display of traffic conditions created by the application for the road segment; in response to the fact that the device leaves the road segment, determine device details that indicate the expected travel time by the user when the device approaches the road segment and the actual travel time; and transferring information from the device to the server to configure the traffic prediction algorithm based on the error parameter in calculating the user traffic.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the accuracy of determining traffic.
