SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hydrotreating used catalyst recovery, comprising at least 8 wt.% of coke and one or more base metals of Group VIII and / or Group VIb, comprising the stages of: (i) coke removal from the used hydrotreating catalyst; (ii) treating the catalyst obtained in step (i) with the aqueous gluconic acid solution containing from 2 to 60 wt.% of gluconic acid relative to the catalyst dry weight; and (iii) optionally, drying at the temperature of at most 200°C.
EFFECT: technical result is the regenerated catalyst increased efficiency (recovery and even increase in activity with respect to hydrotreating (hydrodesulfurization)).
