FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production technology of reducing agents for metallurgy. Method for processing carbon-containing raw materials with reducing agent for production of technical silicon is proposed, which includes heat treatment of carbon-containing raw materials in fluidized bed at temperature of 700–850 °C by means of high-speed blast with mixture of air and water vapor to ensure transition of iron-containing compounds in carbon-containing raw material into magnetic form. Reducing agent is then cooled and immediately after cooling, magnetic separation is carried out for 100–120 hours with induction value of magnetic field of not less than 1.1 T.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing iron content in reducing agent to produce high-quality technical silicon.
