SUBSTANCE: invention relates to charging vehicles. Method of charging a vehicle comprises controlling DC converter output voltage via a control device, while connected to an external electric source such that zero current flows to and from an auxiliary battery in response to a state of charge of the auxiliary battery exceeding a threshold. Otherwise, the DC converter output voltage is controlled to flow current to the auxiliary battery.
EFFECT: improved protection of the power storage device.
